Sand Dough

 
 

Have fun eking out the last remnants of summer with this great sensory sand dough.

Add some seashells and stones to explore molding, texture and imprints with the dough.


 

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup Flour

  • 1 cup Play Sand

  • 1/4 cup Salt

  • 1 tbsp Cream of Tartar

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 3/4 cup Boiling Water

  • Extras: sea shells, beach or glass stones, small plastic animals, rolling pins, plastic knives, etc

 

To Do:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sand, salt, and cream of tartar.

  2. Add the oil and water and mix well.

  3. Knead the dough for 1-2 minutes until it is all smooth adding a little flour bits at a time if it is too sticky.

  4. Let it cool for 5 minutes

  5. Add some shells, stones and creatures and have fun molding and playing with your sand playdough.

  6. Store in an airtight container.
