You Got This, Mama

Maybe you don’t need a reminder. Maybe you wake up rested every single morning, refreshed, positive, no worries, no doubts, no self-confidence issues, no feelings of regret… healthy, and positive. And maybe, just maybe, a little affirmation, a reminder that you are appreciated, a quick note to tell you that you’re not alone, that you’re a part of a community that feels what you feel, consumed by the same worries, and drowning in an ocean of unthanked deeds.

We get it. This is REAL LIFE.

This is your thank you note. This is a reminder that you’re appreciated. We notice how hard you’re working to ensure your home, career, and family find SOME sort of balance.

Think of this post as a “we see you.” We notice you. You are everything you hoped to be. We see you showing up when laying under the covers just seemed like the perfect plan. We see you putting yourself last. We recognize your sacrifices. We see that sitting down for a meal after a long day isn’t exactly the break it sounds like in your head. We see you pushing through it. You are a champion. You are a mom. A great mom. You are the head of the household. You are your little’s hero. Believe it.

We hear you. We feel you. We understand that public tantrums don’t tell the full story. We appreciate the fact that nobody deserves an explanation, but you feel it justified in case they comment, glare, whisper or stare. We see you trying. We see them looking. We see you doing your best.

We see you as a successful, full of life, full of love, mom.

We see you wearing that title like a queen. We see that you’ve earned it, and we respect how hard you work, every single day, even when your efforts just seem...effortless. We see you sneaking snacks in the bathroom. Enjoy them. You earned them. We see you taking time to improve and work on YOU when you go for a run or splurge on a pilates class. Take it. You earned it.

We celebrate you. All of you. Not just those Instagrammable moments or Facebook snapshots you hope to serve as someone else’s perspective into your life, but the personal, memorable, no makeup, ripped hoodie, hair in a bun, mismatched socks, dirty joggers.. you.. moments.

Thank you for all that you do, for the lessons you teach, for the times you listen to never-ending stories, the band-aid inventions, good intentions, story creations, fort builds, and impromptu hairstyles; For staying up late, and for getting up early; for snack runs, boxes of wine and chocolate cravings, the classic “eat what they don’t finish” meals, rideshares, and for showing up.

SHOWING UP. Showing up for your Littles; For your family; For your career. For friends. For strangers. Even when laying under the covers just seems like the best possible plan.

Please remember to celebrate you. You deserve it. You earned it. All of it. Thank you for being everyone’s everything, moms.

With Love,
