Quarantined With Children

Dear Napp Network,

We’ve received countless messages in the past week from our concerned sitters and families regarding our company’s policy and actions regarding the shared CDC/nationwide Covid-19 advisories, changes, precautions, disruptions and quarantines supporting flattening the coronavirus curve and preventing the spread and threats to exposure.

In short: We, as still a small business, are fully committed to adhering to every precaution, fully support CDC guidelines, and share in the concerns we’ve heard and read since the onset of the pandemic. We make sure that preparation information, prevention suggestions, protection advice, and plans shared by the CDC are mirrored on our website and in our communication in an effort to connect every member of our network to necessary information.

Napp sitters are available. You’re not alone.

In order to continue serving communities depending on Napp, we are making it mandatory that families and sitters take the necessary precautions, and ask we all use common sense and courtesy before either posting a gig on the app as a family or posting availabilities as a sitter.

For example:

If you have traveled in the last 21 days (no exceptions), you are NOT eligible to post availability, secure, or request a gig on our app as a sitter or family.

If you, or your children, show signs (any level) including cough, fever, shortness of breath, chest pains, or loss of color in your lips, you are NOT eligible to post availability, secure, or request a gig on our app as a sitter or family.

If you’ve been exposed to anyone showing signs or symptoms listed above and on the CDC website, you are NOT eligible to post availability, secure, or request a gig on our app as a sitter or family.

If you haven’t adhered to social-distancing advice, and have instead chosen to be exposed to 10+ people in a restaurant, bar, cafe, etc. since the advisory was published, you are NOT eligible to post availability, secure, or request a gig on our app as a sitter or family.

If you, as a sitter, are found to show signs or symptoms when present at a family’s home, you will be dismissed immediately, and suspended from the app indefinitely. The family will not be charged, and you will not be paid. We MUST take this seriously.

If you, as a family, failed to report signs or symptoms to your sitter, or secured a sitter regardless of the rules above, we will take it upon ourselves to relieve the sitter from duty. Please understand that the full rate of the time reserved will be charged regardless of how long the sitter was present in your home and exposed.

We want to make absolutely certain that families and sitters continue to be able to trust and rely on our business to provide the very best, the highest standards, and the safest solutions to the challenges Napp is literally designed to solve.

Remember, we encourage taking extra precautions and to go that extra mile EVERY time. Wash hands often — and then again. Clean and disinfect surfaces often— then clean them again. Please use a hand sanitizer. If playing board games, please remember to wipe down the board game pieces (if applicable) before putting them back in the box with a Clorox Wipe. Please remember that many of the foods we prepare for our network are finger food-friendly. Make sure that hands are washed before and after the meal. Limit face touching as much as possible. If any of this sounds like we’re asking too much, you are NOT eligible to post availability, secure, or request a gig on our app as a sitter or family.

Until we know more and updates, precautions, warnings, have subsided, this is the way it’s going to be to protect you, families, sitters, children, and our collective reputation.

We’re so proud and so happy that we’ve been able to help so many people during this time. Healthcare workers, teachers, entrepreneurs, students, military families, and we want to keep it that way. We are one big family, ONE network. Let’s please work together to continue doing the right thing, the right way.

Below. you will find links to fantastic CDC resources. We urge you to continue educating yourself, and your tribe, about Covid-19, and how we can work together to dwarf its spread.
