Apple Monsters

These apple monsters are so fun during the spooky season! And they are super easy to prepare. They are perfect for breakfast, lunch or just by themselves for a simple spooky snack.

What You’ll Need:

  • Apples

  • Sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, mini marshmallows or yogurt covered raisins

  • Chocolate Chips

  • Strawberries

  • Nut Butter or Hazelnut Spread

To Make:

  1. Carefully begin to cut the apples into slices. Using a paring knife cut two “mouth” like slits into each apple slice. Remove the excess apple.

  2. Begin to create your apple monsters. Use a nut-butter or hazelnut spread for the inside of the mouth. Then use slivered almonds, sunflower seeds, mini marshmallows or yogurt covered raisins to fill in the mouths.

  3. Add a slice of strawberry in the middle for a silly monster tongue!

  4. To adhere the eyes, place a little nut butter or hazelnut spread on the back of a mini marshmallow and then firmly press into the apple above the mouth. Then repeat with a chocolate chip and place it in the middle of the mini marshmallow.

  5. Enjoy immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours until ready to serve.
