Sharpie Tie-Dye Coasters
This is a great project for all ages, even the littlest of kiddos can do this one. Since the rubbing alcohol blurs everything together, it really doesn’t matter how precise or tidy the coloring is. Every single one will end up beautiful and unique!
You Need:
4 " x 4" Ceramic White Tiles (can be found at home improvement or craft stores)
Sharpie Colored Markers
91% or 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
Polyurethane Top Coat for sealing
Small paintbrush
Eye Dropper or a small spoon
Peel and Stick Felt for the bottoms
To Make:
Wipe the tile clean with a damp cloth and dry.
Color the tile with the Sharpies with bold and contrasting colors. Don't worry if it's messy, if the colors overlap or if there's white space showing.
Using an eye dropper or small spoon, carefully drop the rubbing alcohol onto the colored tile.
Allow the tile to dry for at least 40 minutes.
Using a small paintbrush, gently cover the top of the tile with a polyurethane top coat to seal in the color and allow to set for 24 hours.
Cut the felt to the size of the tile, peel off the backing, and stick it to the bottom of the tile.
