Handprint Heart Tree

 
 

This simple and sweet Valentine's Day craft requires a few supplies with a side of love! The personalized handprint makes this a sweet keepsake gift for toddlers and preschoolers to give to family or friends for Valentine's Day.

You’ll Need:

  • Pink and brown construction paper

  • Large sheet of white construction paper or cardstock

  • Gluestick 

  • Scissors

  • Items to decorate your Handprint Heart Tree with: 

    • Construction paper

    • Card stock paper

    • Stickers

    • Pom Poms

    • Sequins

    • Glitter or iridescent pens

To Make:

  1. Fold over a piece of pink paper and draw half of a heart on the folded side. Then cut out your heart. Or if you’d like to freehand your heart, go for it

  2. Trace a handprint and part of the arm on brown construction paper. 

  3. Glue the handprint cutout on top of your heart so that the fingers are the branches and the arm is the trunk. 

  4. Decorate your Heart Tree with whatever you choose. Make flowers from the pom poms, cut out small hearts from colored paper, draw leaves, etc. 

  5. Keep adding decorations until you are happy with the way your handprint tree looks.

  6. Add a personal touch with a sweet note at the bottom to your loved one!
