The Extra Mile

“The extra mile…” this keeps coming up in testimonials and reviews left for our most popular and highest-earning sitters. It’s also published in our brand DNA — a standard we take pride in supporting, encouraging, and reminding our sitters to apply.

But what does the extra mile really mean? What’s it look like? It’s not defined, and there are no examples outlining what going the extra mile actually looks like.

CORRECT! We know that. We expect our sitters to determine what will elevate the Napp Family’s experience during their gig. Look, nobody expects you to clean the gutters, sweep the chimney, or clean the windows (unless there are tiny fingerprints on them from activity during your gig). What we do suggest, is taking care of the environment in which you’ve been invited and entrusted to care. If you see dirty dishes in the sink, we just ask you to clean them or empty the dishwasher to allow the family a little extra peace of mind when they come home. Maybe you have an opportunity to pick up around the house or put books away, tidy up, put fresh water in a vase, water the plants, while the Little for whom you care is taking a nap.

You, a super-star Napp Sitter, are so much more valuable to the family than you know. You’ve been described as a “life-saver.” Think about that. Someone is trusting their child, home, pet, EVERYTHING, with a stranger for whom our reputation vouches. We take that super-darn seriously.

That extra mile is our way, your way, of saying thank you for that trust. We want to prove that our appreciation for the confidence they’ve shared in us is recognized in the way we behave with their littles, in their home, for their pet, and, when needed, sharing a couple of chores to make their night a little easier and their experience a little better.

No, you’re not forced to do chores. Just remember our highest-earning sitters, those super-stars who are earning salary level income, have testimonials riddled with the phrase “the extra mile.”

Our Napp families deserve that, and so do you.

So how do we define it… that Extra Mile? We don’t. We choose to show it, prove it, and gift it instead. Tell us how YOU show it. Share some of the hacks, processes, or ideas you’ve proven go a long way without hurting your responsibilities to the Littles in your care. We can’t wait to read them.

Talk to you soon!
