Napp Standards
The Napp brand continues to be fuled by trust and experienced through community. As a Napp representative, sitter or family, you are responsible for adhering to these standards (below) in order to protect, promote, and maintain the Five-Star experience on which we insist.
Before the Gig
Sitters
Review all details listed for each gig booked, including address, directions, children’s names, children’s and pet needs, listed allergies, and the notes provided for each child in your care,
Text your Napp GIG-Family 24-Hours ahead of your booked gig and introduce yourself. Remember, common courtesy is your first impression.
Text Introduction Tip: "Hi this is [name], your Napp sitter. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family tomorrow at [time of booking]. Please let me know if there is anything I should know ahead of time, or last minute directions not listed in our original Napp notes."
Before the Gig
Families
Post important details in our app’s notes section specific to your gig for sitters to find easily, and review ahead of time. Any details you can add to make the first visit as seamless, prompt, and enjoyable as possible are recommended.
Notes can include house rules, allergies, pets’ needs, medicine schedules, emergency contact information, parking details, driving directions, specific requests, dietary restrictions, bed-time, bed-time routine, etc.
Clarify if it’s just your kids or additional children not listed on the gig. If additional children are present on this occasion, please be so kind as to adjust your rate to allow a fair and transparent relationship with your Napp sitter.
Upon Arrival
Sitters
Always be on time, and clock-in at the confirmed start time of your gig. If you arrive early, you still must clock in at the agreed upon time. We cannot ask families to pay for additional time outside of an agreement. In the RARE case you’re running late, are having car trouble, traffic, etc.. a text update is an absolute must. Our sitters must protect the relationships and trust with families who are counting on them.
Make an introduction. Offer a hand to shake, a smile, and a warm hello to the children by addressing each by name.
Engage with the children as soon as possible, if not immediately. Let them know you are happy to be there and are there for them.
Upon Arrival
Families
Communication is the key! Remind your sitter through your preferred method of care, details, children’s needs, electronic tablet boundaries, household rules, and preferences so that your Napp sitter has a clear understanding of expectations.
Give a house tour. Please allow time to walk your sitter through your space and show them how stuff works - the lights, the alarm system, the TV remote, etc. If there are things you want them NOT to use, please make this clear.
Remind your sitter when you will be back. If you are looking for flexibility on the end of your Napp time, please confirm that this will work for your sitter and remember to adjust your rate if necessary.
On the Clock
Sitters
Go the extra mile! Do the dishes (even those left in the sink that aren’t yours), pick up toys, fold the throw blankets, straighten the pillows, push in the dining room chairs, empty the trash, etc. We exist to make the lives of the families who hire us a little easier. These small efforts go a long way, take little time, and make a world of difference for parents returning to a happy and tidy home.
Families feel more secure and appreciate when you text them pictures of their kids having a fun time with you. Whenever appropriate and safe, snap a photo or take selfie with the children and text it to the family, it makes them feel happy that you are there enjoying your time, and the children love it too. It goes without saying that safety and common sense matter here. Texting while driving is never permitted. Not by Napp, and certainly not by the law.
Be fun, engaging, and memorable. Remember that you are here for the children. If they are excited about you, and happy that you are there, the family will be too and will likely book you again.
On the Clock
Families
Relax. Have a good day at work, a fantastic night out, or time alone to run errands. Trust that your children are in good hands within the Napp network.
You are free to check-in throughout the gig, or remind the sitter to let you know if they have any concerns or questions.
Please don’t be late without warning. Sitters are expecting you home at a specific time. If the scheduled end of gig time changes, we ask that you call or text your sitter directly and confirm the new time of arrival works for them as well. We understand unexpected things can come up — Just keep in mind that your sitter may have an appointment scheduled, home responsibilities, class, or children of their own. Common courtesy is something we push throughout our network. We expect that respect work both ways.
End of Gig
Sitters
Engage with parents upon their arrival home. Ask how their night went, and then give then a run-down of your time with their children: Who was super well behaved? Did everyone eat well? Did everyone go to sleep without problems? What did you do? Families really appreciate a full and honest report.
Clock-out of the gig as soon as you have left the house. If you waited too long, or forgot to clock-out on time, scroll the time back on the app so that it’s accurate and honest.
End of Gig
Families
Ask your sitter questions to get the full picture of your time away. If you want specifics, please don’t hesitate to ask for them.
Please remember a Thank You goes a long way. We ask that you confirm they safely get to their car, or way home, so all of our sitters enjoy a safe and caring experience with you.
Upon Completion
Sitters and Families
All payments will take place automatically through the app upon clock out and you will receive a receipt in your email inbox. Payouts will take 1-2 days to complete. Please leave an honest review and rating for your Napp experience.
Curate your relationship with the Napp sitter or Napp family on our app. A sense of familiarity really strengthens bonds, trust, and experience.
