Introducing: Napp’s Virtual Companionship and Assistance Program

Here we are. At home. In our makeshift office, taking calls in our closet conference room. Here we are, divided between deadlines and lifelines. We’re scheduling tea time, Zoom reviews, spelling tests, and Googling how in the world Common Core math actually works. We’re putting out fires for our clients, while making sure our homes don’t burn down, all while our LITTLE “co-workers” need our attention more than ever. We get it. We read every single email, and save every social media story you tag us in to show us why you miss Napp.

We see our sitters FaceTiming with your Littles, to remind them they didn’t disappear. We watch as your Littles recognize their voice and blow kisses to let your sitter know they love them.

When COVID-19 regulations and rules were first shared, we knew we had to pivot to ensure your child’s life, your life, and the lives of our sitters could withstand and continue as best as possible. We had to do something. You, after all, are family.

This April, that’s THIS MONTH, we’re sending out a CALL TO OPEN ARMS to all our active Sitters, and preparing the Napp Virtual Companionship + Assistance Program specifically designed to introduce and invite new services to your VIRTUAL Napp experience.

What does that include?

  1. Virtual Story Time — Our sitter will read books, share pictures, turn pages, and engage with your little through FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype on your tablet or smartphone, to allow you a break, peace of mind, or help divide your energy between the littlest little, and the one learning long division.

  2. Virtual Tutors (ED.) — We’re reaching out to Educators and Tutors to assist with homework, help solve problems, or work with your Little, side by side, while your work hours are committed to your career.

  3. Virtual Mindfulness (Yoga) — You guessed it. Our Napp mindfulness leaders will guide meditations, breathing exercises, yoga, stretching, and introduce a little zen into a time of complete disruption. We have to remember that kids miss their friends. They miss that one-on-one social interaction with a face they’re “LEARNING” about. They simply miss companionship in addition to Mom and Dad.

  4. Virtual Dance Parties — Let’s inject a little dancey when your Littles feel a little antsy (I know… just let it go). It always happens JUST before a conference call. You know it. We know it. We get it. Dance parties are a fantastic introduction to sneaking exercise into a playdate that helps burn energy and promise a good night’s sleep (for you both).

  5. Virtual Arts & Crafts — Crafts, crayons, drawing, and guiding doodles into works of art with one of our Napp caregivers will allow for that creative expression to shine bright and free and without a messy surprise waiting for you when you’re off of a call, or finish that report.

  6. Virtual Companionship — Sometimes what we need MOST is for our Littles to have someone to talk to, to laugh with, to tell stories to, to take on a tour of the house, or introduce to the pup. Sometimes that companionship can mean drawing together, reading together, or just keeping an eye out for your Little while you’re working.

  7. ALL OF THE ABOVE — Depending on your booking time, the Napp caregiver you choose will create and share the day’s schedule with you so that you can rest easy and know your Little has a full day of packed activities filled with fun, stories, exercise, and a little downtime before you take over.

So what makes this program different from the thousands of online videos, streamed DJ sets, and happy hours? Human, one-on-one interaction with your little ones. That human touch can still be present and introduced into your Little’s life. The human element can’t be ignored. Kids have stories to tell, and tiny curious listening ears waiting for a story to be told. They have questions. A LOT of questions. And we, at Napp, are ready positioned and qualified to help.

Remember: All of our Napp caretakers are asked to text you an alert immediately if ever your Little leaves the line of sight or tablet frame. We’re introducing the Virtual Companionship + Assistance Program specifically because of what you shared with us.

If you’re reading this blog, and you’re not yet a Napp member, please consider signing up, and letting us know what virtual skills you’d enjoy offering our community of incredible families, or what you can’t wait for your Littles to enjoy.

We’ve prepared a page on our website specific for this program and would love your feedback. Let us know how we may help make your life just a little easier.

We’re in this together. We’ll beat this together.

Your friends,
Claire & Katie, Co-Founders, Napp
